- We've changed preferences since the last time- basically, after a little more researching, the wedding planner/designer/makeup artist we appeared to be happy with in the last post didn't make us happy any more. So we looked around a little more, checked out some more places, and decided that we could mostly plan our own wedding. With a little help, of course.
- Hantaran shopping is done!!- We were at the shops when they opened one Sunday morning about a month and a half ago, and we shopped and shopped till they closed. We were tired, of course, but it was lovely that we'd gotten almost everything we wanted in that one day. The rest we managed to get here and there later.
- My outfit for the akad nikah is almost done- Just got my tailor to do it. Last I took a look, it was turning out beautifully. :-)
- New designer for my reception outfit- Eilla Faizshah (Busana Cinta). She did Erra Fazira's baju for her wedding with Yusry. It was so novel watching her (Eilla, not Erra) sketch the design for me. It seemed soooo easy. My makeup artist will be one of those that Eilla works with.
- Kursus kahwin's done!- Gem and I went to Zura's Akademik in Bangsar Utama. It was a long day and a half, luckily it wasn't boring. Thank God that's done!!
- Cards- Only need to be printed now. :-)

Delayed start
oK, oK, so I should've started writing about this from the day we got engaged, 3rd November 2007, but in some way it hadn't really hit me that I had a wedding to plan, and this time, it was MY wedding. :-) Dian and Diha have been telling me for quite a few months now that I should document my wedding prep, so here I am. Better late than never, right?
Actually, right after the engagement, my parents (especially my mother), have been telling me quite a few times to start planning the wedding right away, but I told them that Gem and I didn't wanna touch it till 2008 comes around. It's almost the end of January and we have gotten around to doing some things. About 2 weeks ago, we started looking around for bridal boutiques. From all those issues of Pesona Pengantin I've been buying, it appeared that I would've been spoilt for choice in Shah Alam alone. Alas! I found only 2 places that I fancied, and between those, you couldn't say much about customer service. Before this, when I was maid of honour at my friends' weddings, somehow, we never got to checking out Shah Alam. Some places seemed oK- they had moderately attentive people attending to you, some of them had workers/owners who couldn't quite be bothered whether you were interested in their stuff or not, and very, very rarely, you'd get boutique owners or workers who'd be really enthusiastic once you entered their shop. And sometimes, even though you may have had your mind utterly set on another place earlier, this last group of people usually just change your mind completely. This was what happened to me a few days back. I'd already had my mind quite set on this one boutique in Shah Alam, owned by a rather well-known makeup artist. But when Gem and I checked out this other place quite near my house in KL, we were soooooooooooo pleasantly surprised at how attentive and enthusiastic they were about the whole affair, that we decided almost immediately that these were the people we wanted to help us with our do. We are really looking forward to the next few months of planning our day. Well, I hope Gem is as much as I am. :-)
Anyhow, aside from that, I've already done my preliminary guest list. Dian's designing the invitation cards, and God, she does a lovely job. :-)
Till the next post...
